The Greenbelt Bridge Options don't make sense.  We need a common sense crossing.

Who are we?

Common Sense Crossings is a grassroots community group formed in February 2009 after the NCC added two Greenbelt Interprovincial bridge options, along with the existing Kettle Island Option, to a Phase 2 Environmental Assessment study.

What is our goal?

  • We are a community voice that informs, influences and advises the citizens of the National Capital Region that a bridge has no place in the Greenbelt.
  • We will raise awareness of the impact of the two Greenbelt bridge options on the community, its immediate environment and the Greenbelt itself.
What is our vison?
  • To help the citizens of the National Capital Region understand what is at stake with the two proposed Greenbelt bridge options for both sides of the Ottawa River.
How will we succeed?
  • We will inform, advise and influence citizens of the National Capital Region, political leaders and decision makers of the long term impacts and consequences of a bridge being built in the Greenbelt in terms of traffic, cost, the environment, effect on communities.
